There is probably not a more rewarding hobby than taking and sharing pictures. Since the introduction of the digital camera, this hobby has grown to an international past time. Everyone now has access to a camera either through the means of a personal digital camera and or a mobile phone.
It really is exciting to be able to capture that special scene anytime anywhere because of the miracle of digital photography. It give a whole new meaning to the old fashioned term ‘shutter bug‘. In fact, many reading this have probably not even heard the term before. We used to attach that title to anyone that was always running around taking pictures of everyone. You know the type, we all had one (or more) in our family who was always making everyone ‘pose’ at family gatherings.
Today’s challenge is not taking or capturing those special pictures. The challenge is now to fix pictures we have taken or some that we have scanned from old family albums. We all have our collections of digital pictures residing on the hard drive of our computers. Our problem is getting them organized and touched-up in such a way that we can be proud of them and then share with others.

The multiply method (color tut video 01) works best with brighter images or line-art and the color layer method (color tut video 02) works best for darker images as it will not effect white areas. Having your line-art or b/w drawing and the color on separate layers you can adjust the colors by doing: when working with color layer mode (color tut video 02), if the color does not look like what you have in mind then use image/adjustments/Hue/Saturation to tweak the color until you get the shade you need. You can lower the layer opacity to have less saturation too. when working with multiply layers (color tut video 01) you can adjust the colors by using image/adjustments/Hue/Saturation To get the best results you still can paint over on top of your image. The downside of working with multiply layers is that you can not make good use of the color-picker unless the background is completely white. Video Rating: 5 / 5
My Deviantart: oceanchan.deviantart.com Finally, a new video~! It’s been awhile, I’m sorry. m -__- m I have been using Paint Tool SAI a lot more lately which does not automatically record my progress like Opencanvas does, so I guess that’s why the decrease. Paint Tool SAI has a much faster response and the watercolour/blending abilities of the program are just as good. I recommend it to anyone looking for a program like Open Canvas, or just a CGing program in general. :3 As for the character herself, I do not play any Super Robot games nor have I ever really came across the likes of this character until my boyfriend introduced her to me and requested I draw her (so I did.. because I love him =w= fufu). She has a pretty epic weapon as well, but I did not include it since I’m not very good at drawing those kinds of things… =w=;;;; Hopefully I’ll be posting a new copic video soon…. to be honest I have been recording some copic videos here and there, but they turn out being none I really like. I’m sry for that. OTL Once again, thanks for 300+ SUBSCRIBERS! Goddd, I really never thought I’d get that many… I was just posting my videos up for Deviantart… @_@;;;; Thanks again everyone!! Hello again, this time we will be making a Spraypaint for Source games (TF2, CS:S, etc) that cycles between different images depending on the distance of the viewer. This is basically done by manually editing the mipmaps of the image file, which are pretty much used to swap large textures out for smaller ones when they are further away from the camera to save texture memory. ——————————— Things you will need: – Adobe Photoshop (I use CS3 in this video) – Nvidia Photoshop plugins (enables saving as .DDS filetype): developer.nvidia.com – (DDS to VTF converter) Quick and Dirty Bloodlines Tools v3.9a turvy.dommel.be – VTFEdit (optional): halflife2.filefront.com – 2 (or more) images, preferably 256×256 pixels in dimension (or any other power of 2). ——————————— Mini-FAQ Q) I keep getting “Error, Too many channels to export (#)” when I try to save as .DDS A) You should only have 1 Alpha channel and the bottom layer of your image should be a “background” layer. You can convert a layer to a background layer by going to: Menu\Layer\New\Layer from background… Q) Why is VTFEdit optional? A) Because you can manually make the .VMT file with a random text editor. It’s easier to copy an existing .VMT and edit the names though. Q) I can’t read / Where can I get Photoshop? A) /ignore Q) Why is there no sound/music? A) Because pausable text is superior to voice commentary and TF2′s ‘Playing with danger’ was too short. Q) I just got banned for …
